Just saw it. Ask me anything
I work at a movie theater in norway and we got to see the movie last night. Bring on the questions.

shareIs it any good? Better or worse than the Olyphant film?
shareIts a decent enough action movie. However hitman fans might not like that. Comparison to the Olyphant movie can only be made by the insividual. I liked this more. Others might not
shareWhat was the pacing of the movie like? Is there any stand out action scenes? How was the violence in the movie any cool kills? The CGI looked a bit iffy in places how would you say it looked on the big screen?
Be much appreciated if you can answer.
The movie was trying to do everythin in a short amount of time. Leading some pacing problems. There were some cool action scenes, however you see most of them in the trailer and many memorable kills. I will not list them here because spoilers.
shareI agree, it's not as super bad as many people thought it will be (as an action film of course)
but for action scenes, I prefer Olyphant because of the shaky cam in this one
but that's me ^^
"I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all out of bubblegum."
Would you say it at least attempts to capture the spirit of the games or does it just come down to being a fun action film that'll be entertaining but quickly forgotten? My other concern is whether the story becomes too focussed on the female character rather than the titular Hitman?
Thanks in advance
I will say yrs. They try. They do not try hard enough. I will say that because of the gameplay most people would find a hitman movie boring. I say most people as in the movies target audience. Also unfortunate is that our dear Agent 47 becomes overshadowed by Katie Van Dees, and themovie focuses mostly on her and reduces Agent 47 to an emotionless robotlike character. Their relationship ends up very similair to that of Sarah Cinnir and the Terminator in Terminator 2. She doesnt really know if she can trust him. We never hear about his viewpoint.
shareAlso i am writing on a phone excuse the typos. Sarah Connor, not Cinnir :P
sharewould you say the focus on the female is more than that of the first movie?
Thanks for the write up ;)
The movie was trying to do everything in a short amount of time. Leading some pacing problems
If there is sny focus on the female character at all in a Hitman movie I would day it is too much focus. In comparison to the Olyphant movie it is about the same
shareHave you played any of the games? If you're familiar with them, how is the character of Agent 47 here compared to the games?
Also: Cool to see a fellow Norwegian on IMDB!

I have not played a hitman game sinci silent assassin. In that game his priest gets killed and he chases after the killer. In the movie he is an emotionless killing machine who only cares about his contract.
shareAnt thoughts on Rupert Friends performance?
shareHow were the fight scenes? I really disliked the Hotel fight scene that FOX uploaded on youtube, because they used excessive shaky cam (like Bourne 2 and 3) and camera angles changing too frequently.
I liked the fight scenes in Olyphant's movie because they didn't use the above techniques (hence, comprehensible fight scenes at least).
Is this the same case for all fight scenes (i.e. shaky cam and changing camera angles for all fight sequences)?
I just saw it too
the fight scenes, especially for the close combat, all were filmed like the hotel scene one.
"I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all out of bubblegum."
How did Zachary Quinto do as the villain?
shareDoes it end on a cliffhanger?
"The red capes are coming, the red capes are coming."
Batman v. Superman: dawn of justice
yes, it ends in a cliffhanger
a bit confusing one too for me
"I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and I'm all out of bubblegum."
That sucks, pretty much every movie nowadays ends that way. Studios need to care more about the movies themselves and how much money they can make.
