Missed an opportunity with 48

Since the movie ends with 48 being sent after 47 I figured that they could've added a pretty cool twist connecting the 2007 version with this one:

have 48 portrayed by Timothy Olyphant and ending "Agent 47" on a cliffhanger using the third movie to connect both movies.

Having the third one pose as a "Face/Off"-ish Hitman movie with twists and turns over who the actual 47 is and why 48 was brought into play (something along the lines off "Friends 47 is the original 48, replacing Olyphant's 47 in the agency as a sleeper spy while the original 47 (Olyphant) was reprogrammed and turned into a mindless killing machine. During his time as a sleeper mole the original 48 (now known as 47) starts becoming more and more human and we end up with the big bad pitting the original 47 against faux 47 (48)).

They could have an entire movie featuring both very different incarnations of 47 batteling it out. Since Olyphants 47 was more the silent assassin he could go at his job the way he did in the 2007 version and Friends 47 could go in guns blazing.

It sounds good in theory, however Olyphant stated that he had no desire to return as 47, and only did the 2007 movie because he needed the money. It wasn't a missed opportunity as such, but more a non-option. I also didn't like how Agent 47 was a mass-murderer type assassin - I wanted the Silent Assassin approach. I wouldn't have watched the movie had I know this was he case... I found it to be a letdown.

He did? Well that's unfortunate, I was hoping for him to be more open to be doing movies since Justified had ended recently.

IF they do a third one (with or without Friend, he wasn't as good as Olyphant but did his job) I do hope that they scrap the light Avengers-esque tone in favor of a darker New Orleans vibe with less explosions but quiet, quick assassin-heavy scenes with a pretty emotionless 47.

They could easily pull a story not about the agent program or ANYTHING about 47's origins. Just pull him in as an assassin trying to take down some nasty a**hole.

*beep* there're so many great scenarios to come up with and write a 80-90 minute long movie out of.
