Will a sequel be green lit?
It should finish its run with around 30m domestic and around 100m worldwide. On a 35m budget do you think a sequel is likely?

shareProbably. After they have seen how much it has sold on DVD/Blu-ray and VOD.
shareThe way the ending is set up and all I think they planned for sequels if it makes the $100 million worldwide I think that would be enough for them to green light it.
shareDon't forget to add in whatever money they received from Audi for product placement. Reminded me a bit of the late 70's James Bond movies that were more advertisement than movie.
shareI don;t think so, Yes an inevitable sequel was opened up at the end, but the film has taken a steep dive and i don;t think it will climb, just fall.
shareThis is an update on its status at the box office
Budget: $35 million
Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $21,583,995 29.1%
+ Foreign: $52,500,000 70.9%
= Worldwide: $74,083,995
And it's still in theaters.
A neutral post. Just an update.
The domestic grosses are disappointing, for sure. By the way, I'm sure they spent a good ammount of money to promote this movie. So, marketing and promotion should be included.
Overseas grosses are what saved this movie from being a flop. The first Hitman movie made almost 100 million worldwide, but its sequel got canned. So, it's hard to predict what's gonna happen to this new flick. It has a cliffhanger, but many movies with cliffhangers didn't get sequels.
So, I would wait at least until the next year.
The first ond b made over 139 million ww
