"A New M. Night Shyamalan Experience" Not a movie, not a film. It's MORE. LOL.

Jesus, get over yourself, man. A lot of your movies haven't even been that great.

To be fair, he might not have come up with that. On the other hand, he could have had it written into his contract that the movie is promoted that way.

Saw what you will about him, I bet you remember his movies.

I'd rather him make a movie than Michael Bay.

reply

I prefer Michael Bay. More talent.

reply

Talent for tedium.

reply

I agree with you there.

reply

Both Night and Michael Bay have made some great movies.

You seem to be disparaging Bay here, but The Rock, Pain & Gain and 13 Hours were great. Ambulance was pretty good, too.

reply

I just watched Transformers Age of Extinction and Transformers The Last Night - they were mostly certainly not great.

reply

I would say to judge him on his best work rather than his worst, or at least on his entire filmography.

reply

I have a soft spot for Shyamalan. I haven't seen all his movies, nor have I enjoyed all the ones of his I have seen, but he's carved out a little corner on the market for himself and every now and again makes a great movie. If nothing else most of his work is quite interesting.

reply

Same. He's probably one of the only directors who have made one of my favorite movies while also one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I will say though this looks like his best movie in a while.

reply

Which two movies are those, and out of curiosity, what did you think of The Village?

reply

He is willing to take some chances. I'll give him credit for not doing the same thing every movie.

reply

He’s pretty fearless and clearly very talented. He’s hit some huge grand slams that people still talk about today. I don’t think people appreciate that genuinely creative artists have to take some risks that sometimes go badly. That’s how artists grow and learn and stay relevant

reply

He pissed me off when he made a movie with two gay dads--why M. Night, why?!--but I have been a long-time fan. His first four big studios movies were excellent. (The Village, in particular, I believe is underrated.)

Sadly, he has failed to reach those heights again, but I have still enjoyed some of his more recent films. Old is probably my favorite of his later work.

reply

Well, I’m sympathetic to your first point but it’s a pluralistic society with a very strong freedom of speech ethos so, we have to accept other people want to see such relationships portrayed on screen. I personally did not see that movie because I don’t find that entertaining. I can go back and watch Signs and Sixth Sense over and over and still enjoy them. I loved The Village and its very unique twist and I liked the Unbreakable trilogy. The guy is very talented (btw: it breaks my heart when I go back and see Willis on the screen in his prime)

reply

I support freedom of speech, but I definitely would prefer that my favorite filmmakers choose to exercise theirs by NOT supporting the agenda and delusions of the alphabet people. If gay people want to make homo movies then they can go off and create their own little niche homo movie industry. That kind of stuff shouldn't be in mainstream Hollywood productions though.

Agreed on Willis. What a shame how things have turned out for him! I really despise health problems of any kind. It sucks that we as a species are so prone to things going wrong with us.

reply

I think that is the marketing team behind that. From all the interviews I have seen, he comes across as a humble guy. If you told me it was a Tarantino film I would say he came up with it since he constantly kisses him ass constantly.
