Louisa's not really 'cute.' She's eccentric. Emilia did a good job at playing her. She's too much sometimes, she's not subdued.

Louisa is cute but she's also really extroverted. There's more than one way to do cute and I honestly don't like Lily James, lol.

Maybe that's what the director told her to do.
