Alternative ending ? spoiler

Here is my alternative ending if i was the writer , he accept to stay alive even with the pain he have and the life time he have as the girl love deserve to live for and after 2 6 more months he die so we don't get happy Hollywood ending but we get the the most important thing which is she succeed on changing the man's mind and he see that life worth living for one love as that love worth every pinny .
With the original ending it was rubbish as the girl gave everything to him and she loved him but he was selfish and he didn't give the chance to her by staying alive , like she doesn't worth to stay a life for her .

One single love worth every pain to live for .

Nice movie but bad point one from Hollywood on letting people give up the hope .

sorry for bad eng if there are .

:) Thanks .i wish it was like that .

Agree with your ending. I'm feeling a bit pissed he chose to die after finding true love. Some go never finding.

Ugh

I like this! I would have taken this ending a thousand times over. I was so appalled by him choosing death for those reasons, and I think it sends a really insensitive message as well.

This is an ending I honestly wouldn't have liked. To die in a hospital bed of some infection or illness, in pain and helpless, is precisely what Will did not want.
The ending we got is consistent with the character so I prefer it, either this or a "happy" ending where he lives , but not the one you describe.

One single love worth every pain

I don't think love is worth every pain...some things are more important than love: dignity, quality of life...these things are subjective...

"Please, if you are trying to convert me, this isn't a good time"

I agree. This is not a Hollywood ending.

Sooooo it's like A Walk To Remember then...?

That would have been a boring ending and it would have oversimplified what the characters were experiencing--not to mention what it means to have the autonomy to choose how you live and how you die. Love doesn't just make everything better. It's fine if you want that movie, there are thousands of them out there, but this one wasn't it and some people appreciate the realism.

I actually liked and didnt like the ending at the same time which makes it a good ending for me. I would have liked for him to choose to live and chosen to create a life with her. That would have been ideal but it wasnt possible given who he was and the extent of his condition and abilities. Eventually, it would have taken its toll on both of them. I guess Nathan summed it up best. He wanted him to live but only if he wanted to live. For me, the ending is sad because its not a happily ever after. You wish the circumstances would be different. However its not.
