shareAndrew Garfield is definitely having an amazingly prolific year , going from strength to strength. Silence might be the awards focus just because of the director and general 'art-house' feel of it being much heavier on the drama and dialogue than the graphic war sequence of Hacksaw Ridge.
I find Washington a little limiting especially with the way he speaks when he's attempting to be angry etc. It's the same in every movie and equally irritating to me.
Hacksaw Ridge did well in the international festival circuit, but not in North America. I could see Gibson maybe getting a sniff, but Garfield will get campaigned hard for Silence, there's a much better chance with Scorsese at the helm.
