Trailer 2 vs Trailer 1

I watched the first trailer for fences several months ago and added it to my IMDB watch list. I thought it looked interesting, definitely well acted and certainly worth a watch.

Now at this point let me say I have no experience of the subject matter so I have no frame of reference to tell what's going on.

However, after watching the first trailer I thought I had a grasp of what the story was about, but after watching trailer 2 I am lost, it feels like a different kind of film to the one portrayed in the first.

Does anyone else get that feeling?

I actually like it when trailers don't give a lot of the plot or theme away. Makes going to see it more interesting. Pulp Fiction is a terrific example of that. I had no idea what I was going to see and it just blew me away. All I knew when I saw Pulp was that it involved gansters with guns and Travolta. It was so much deeper than that. Fences has Denzel in it and he lights up the screen in every role he plays. I'm looking forward to this.
