Well, seems to me like she is a housekeeper and the guy is picking up trash for a living. Not exactly the same spot now, is it?

I don't think you quite got what she meant. She wasn't simply talking about their jobs.

I believe she meant she stuck with him every step of the way for those 18 years side by side and did not leave him.

Took the bait? As in people sometimes not getting something, which happens all the time in reality? Granted the could be a troll but these days it's hard to tell.

I wish I could, but I have a wife and a kid to feed. My wife is a housekeeper, so can't really rely on her to do much, you know? Besides complaining how hard her job is, of course.

It's not meant to be taken literally. She meant that she has stayed with him all these years, through thick and thin. She has wanted different things but she stayed with his ass.
