Viola Davis

Okay so she is overdue for an award, i'll give her that AND she is a brilliant actress, i'll admit that too. But the real problem is she lacks versatility. She is a one trick pony. All the time i was watching her on screen i felt like Annalise Keating was playing dress up.

Wanna bet that she will win but this will be it for her, unless she decides to partake in something different from what she has so far been doing.

Denzel on the other hand was brilliant, but thats another story.

I never once saw Annalise watching Fences. Her acting career predates How To Get Away With Murder, so this may be a personal problem for you.

Maybe.

Yes, she lacks range as an actress. This character felt like the same character from The Help (Abilene) only in a different time. This film was set in the 1950s, whereas The Help was in the 1960s, so it was almost like this character was Abilene in the years before The Help takes place.

By the way, she is not "overdue" for anything. There was never a year where she was hands-down the absolute best of the year. "Overdue" would apply to Glenn Close or the late Peter O'Toole.

I agree. I thought about The Help when watching her act. I'm from RI like her so it's nice to see average people making it from here but definitely needs more versatility.

I don't think she's a one trick pony. I mean, she just started getting actual roles. Now that she seems to generated some clout, let's hope her agents take advantage of it to showcase her how good she is. I mean what do you want to see her do acting-wise next?

Why am I so good at playing bitches? I think it’s because I’m not a bitch.-Bette Davis
