I love it. For better or worse

I was afraid after seeing the movie I would find posts of dislike for this movie on IMDB.

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinions, but this movie is NOT horrible, and brings about some outstanding acting!
I read this play in my English lit class and balled my eyes out just reading it.

Perhaps the transfer to film wasn't able to capture the amazing writing of August Wilson, but this story is an emotional one that should be told!!

Viola Davis' character Rose was written by Wilson in the 80s and of course the story is set in the 50s. But Rose could be written exactly the same today in 2017. It is amazing that Wilson was able to tap into a woman's emotions the way he did with her character.

I pray Viola wins the Oscar for this!
