I love these actors but this movie was pure and utter garbage. Boring. Overacted. Wasted 2hrs and 18 minutes of my life. I sure hope this doesn't win any awards. What don't people make good movies anymore?

oh cry me a river. no we haven't all lived the life of slaves. neither have black people in America today. no we haven't all lived a poor life, but most black people are nice and educated and do not talk and behave the way these people did in the movie.
and frankly watching those nasty people in a movie is not entertaining. most people hate this movie.

Excuse me? Did you bother to look up ANYTHING about this film? It's set in the 1950s, and it's based on a play written BY a black playwright (August Wilson) who grew up during that era. "Most people hate this movie." Just admit you didn't like this film because you didn't know a damn thing about it to begin with. I'm black,and I thought FENCES that was an absolutely good film with great acting bu the leads, and FYI, a lot of black folks DO talk exactly like the characters in the film did, and still do today. You must not know a hell of a lot of black people (or working-class black people) to say the nonsense you just said, which is total and complete bull****. "Nasty people" Honestly, you just sounds so ignorant and out of touch with reality--where the hell are you from? And your grammar is poor---you couldn't even do a spellcheck before you bothered to type anything?
What a sad life you live.
