Viola, Let's just SNOT and say we did

I loved the movie and her acting was superb. But .... Was it really necessary to have her stand their with that huge gob a yellow snot under her nose ? I do not mind tears, but when you have this giant gob of thick yellow mucous on your upper lip it is distracting as hell. I get it, realism. But who would stand there talking with that dangling on their lip without wiping it off ? It reminded me of Nixon's upper lip when he resigned. Once again, all I could do was wish he had a tissue. But this was 5 times worse. She was trying to deliver some great dialogue but all I could do was wish Denzel would hand her a tissue.

It showed her dedication to the role . She sacrificed her vanity for that scene and really let rip .

She literally does it in all of her performances. Watch How to Get Away with Murder. Every other damn scene.

Like any good make-up artist like Rachel and Debi would know, they wouldn't interrupt an actors performance by going in and wiping away their mucous.

As for tissue. His character wouldn't have any. But that's not the point.

The point is, this film is all dialogue heavy performance, an actor's dream. Why interrupt that over some mucous?

Movies, ruining books since 1920.
