Denzel Washington as director

I literally fell asleep and was snoring at this movie

A good director opens up a play, finds ways to go beyond the limitations of the stage.

But I also hated the screenplay and premise. I am so fed up with seeing dysfunctional families, and fathers who are completely wrong with how they treat their children. And wives.

OK, give Denzell and Viola acting nominations if you will. But during the part where I was awake, they both gave one note performances. Would have been better if Denzell realized his limitations and got a director who could have done a better job.

You are not the only one that slept.

You didnt see this movie. Certainly didnt go to the movie theater and fall asleep. You're a liar. Bad one at that.

He's not completely wrong. Nobody in this story is. They all have valid feelings and things to say, if you listen and try to hear them out. That's what makes this story so good.

I loved the movie. I loved the verbage. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. To me it oddly reminded me of All In The Family, which I loved. Basically over 90% of the entire series took place in the Bunker living room. But it never bored me because the acting and the writing were so good. Give me good writing, actors and characters that make me care and you can have all the CGI and gunplay and car chases etc etc. Now those 'action' movies put me to sleep because its all fake and the story and dialogue is garbage. I mean I do love well written action movies with good acting. But they are extremely rare. This movie made me feel and made me care. A flawed man living his life the best way he could when he had most everything against him. And despite all his flaws and 'the strikes' against him he lived a meaningful life and he left his mark on this world.

Whatever. You "fell asleep and was snoring," but you know beyond a doubt that Denzell's direction was bad.

How can you be sure of ANYTHING when you've admitted to not watching the movie? Nothing you say here is credible nor should it be taken seriously.
