I thought for sure it was going to be revealed...
I thought for sure it was going to be revealed that Cory was Gabriel's son, and that Gabriel and Rose were married before he went off to war. But when Gabriel was injured and couldn't care for Rose or their unborn son, Troy stepped in and married her. I kept waiting and waiting for it, but nope.
But either way, I give Denzel Washington major credit for memorizing what seemed like twenty-thousand pages of dialogue. Holy cow, that had to be one hefty script.
