Perfect 'Twilight Zone' movie
If you love the format of those old TV shows, then make a point of seeking out this movie. However, if you find Hollywood's current crop of blockbuster STINKERS entertaining, just don't bother, for you lack the IQ and good taste to appreciate it.
Time Lapse is beautifully conceived- an excellent 'high concept' (which is of course ludicrous, but that's the point of this genre), great original location, tight play-like format, fine music and cinematography.
However, the most important feature is that the story is 'crunchy'- full of content around the high concept, rather than simply COASTING on the high concept like most of the original Twilight Zone episodes did. As such it will NOT appeal to the 'hard of thinking', which describes most people who THINK they like this kind of thing.
No-one got rich by over-estimating the intelligence of the audience, which is why Cameron purposely dumbed down the content of Titanic and Avatar. Luckily low budget movies can break the 'rule'- hence this film.
Time Lapse is so much better than the recent crop of low budget genre films so beloved by the 'hipster' crowd.
