Four years passed now - Did Simon Pegg kill the Kelvin timeline?

Star Trek Into Darkness got a lot of flack from the fans and the whole Khan denial thing didn't help.

However the film was a success at the Box Office and seemed to be pushing the rebooted franchise in the right direction. This film however seems to have completely killed the series.

So who's to blame? Pegg? Lin? JJ?

reply

JJ - for jumping ship to SW (which also probably caused the sequel trilogy to end up disappointing just about everyone with Episode 8&9)

Paramount - for ditching Orci's original timelines script that featured William Shatner returning as Kirk. Also not insisting Orci had no business directing and getting someone else to do it (Lin probably would've been fine so long as it wasn't the Pegg script)

Pegg - for writing a lame star trek movie (for the 50th anniversary as well)

Good call on that specifically.
