This film is rated at 7.2 at the time of writing..
..while Wrath of Khan, widely considered to be one of the best Star Trek cinematic films, is rated at 7.7. Yet there is a world of difference between them. Beyond sucked. All three "rebewt" films sucked, but this sucks the worst/most/whatever. I'm just glad that the new franchise has come to an end. In TV and movies, if ever, they'll follow the TOS/TNG timeline. And that is good thing.
"Star Trek won't work" is one of the most interesting phrases uttered in entertainment history, but the Wrongqueals did work, at least at the box office. However, a bunch of unsympathetic asshats for characters does not a great science fiction series make. This is not a fault of the actors. It's mainly a writer/director fault. It will (caveat: I sincerely hope it will) be forgotten as pure *beep* *beep* Cinematic, unadulterated, undiluted, popcorn soiling cinemantic *beep*
Good riddance. What a *beep*
