Idiocracy

What have they done to Star Trek?? Is this some sort of Hollywood formula where you have to have smash and bash fight scenes and explosions every 15 minutes or the audience falls asleep with drool dripping on their popcorn? They really gave Star Trek a lobotomy this time around. Are these movies even being made for English speaking audiences anymore?

For the most part ever since II Trek movies have focused on action (only really IV not action based)

But yeah the reboot trilogy is abit Star Trek dumbed down for the Transformers/F&F masses (via a Star Wars makeover)... so phaser streams replaced with lazer blast bolts, pewpew 'splosions aplenty, planets goin boom, megabigz starships crashin into city, fistfighting on hoverdump trucks, bigz star warsy alienz, beamin all over the galaxy, daddy issues, Kirk having 3sums with cat ladies, spockura, eval kineval kirk/teaser trailer for STB (F&F in Space), Millennium Enterprize, star wars ships showing up (Slave 1, Falcon in STID). Paul Walker/Stifler/Luke Kirk, Vin Diselesque brawlin'Spock slugging everyone in sight, Beefcake Bones Solo, comedy Scotty n' hiz sidekick crustacean ewok, Harold&Kumar Sulu, slimmed down Beyoncé Uhura, hyperactive teen Chekov, Obi-Spock/Pike-Kenobi, Darth Nero n' hiz decepticon deathstar, wiv a stripper Dr Marcus and a white british (cuz brits make totally awesome bad guys) Khan

It's been this way since Wrath of Khan. This movie was also made by a Trek nerd and it shows, with the plot and premise being similar to an OS episode right down to the technobabble resolution as well as the plot being based on how people react to new worlds and ideas.

We all now what Idiocracy looks like anyway. It's when people quote Aristotle, Einstein, Ghandi and Shakespeare to justify uncivilised actions and regressive ideas.

Really? Last time I looked, Star Trek III The Search For Spock wasn't very much action, but more heavy drama. Star Trek IV The Voyage Home was a comedy. Stop saying stupid sh*t in an effort to justify these new Star Wars Trek flicks.

Does it have anything in common with the misuse of the word "now'. 

I am not a fan. I just happen to enjoy movies. Fans are embarrassing.
