Terrible...

I lost interest in this production after half an hour. This is not Star Trek. There is only one scenario which could possibly succeed in the future: Zoe Saldana becomes Captain of the Enterprise, and there is a sound story and not just f-ing cgi. Story and character development! Take it easy, and take it SLOW! But that is too much to ask nowadays, I presume. So, I think we let it rest. Star Trek has become a marketing campaign to generate profit. I don't need this. Do you?

reply

That's why it bombed. 

reply

It. Imbed stnearly 400 million dollars??? You imbecile. Terrific movie

reply

Uh $340 million bro, much closer to $300 million not $400 million, stop inflating numbers for this bomb. 

Insulting me doesn't make it less of a bomb.

One of the worst ST stories I've ever seen. Almost as bad as Star Trek: The Final Frontier.

reply

It was one of the worst movies i've ever seen. I just hope everyone involved took a huge kick in the genitals. 

reply

Whenever someone says that, I just have to laugh. Either you're 12-years-old or you say that for most movies you see.

Get away from her, you BITCH!!!

reply

And when i see "people" like you i just wonder how much you are getting paid to shill this terrible movie.

reply

I so agree with you. Absolutely sick of all the nonsensical CGI CRAP. They totally need to remove "science" from this fiction. So boring.

reply

Yeah, let's get rid of CGI! As long as we're at it, let's destroy all the computers.
If you found it boring, you're obviously too stupid to understand the story.

The story is EASILY understood. Perhaps it is just kind of a boring story. Not sure "stupidity" has anything to do with it. Dirt Bikes?? Current Era Muisc??? Yeah, THAT's "Star Trek" har har. THAT is just placating to wider audiences, nothing more. That took me out of the Trek Universe instantly. There was a bunch of "action", but the actual story was very dull. IMO

reply

Completely agree. It was a serious let down. 'Fast and Furious in space' is a good summation.

I liked the first 2 ST movies with Pine. I'm not a Trekkie.

But even I thought this one was bad. Not terrible, but certainly not good.

I had too many nitpicks with it to list. But I don't like the Enterprise being destroyed, them crash landing on a planet and being stranded only to so conveniently happen to find another Enterprise waiting for them. Oh it needed fixing, but Scotty has the magic touch. He can repair anything in moments without the need for spare parts.

It's very tropey and I didn't appreciate the excessive technobabble. Someone who isn't an idiot will know that the things they say don't make any sense. It's insulting the intelligence of the view. To be fair, perhaps this happens in every ST movie, but I'm picky about these things.
