I'm really tired of the Star Wars vs Star Trek debate.

Interesting how much money Rogue 1 made in comparison to Force Awakens. The 28 day totals FA made 50% more yet no one says a word!

I've always liked Star Trek better, personally.

People will go and see anything if it has Star Wars in the title

Same here. I grew up watching TNG and DS9 as a kid. So I'm a big fan of the Star Trek franchise. Despite that, I enjoyed watching the Star Wars movies.

I find your lack of cognitive skills disturbing. Until now RO made more than a billion in cinema alone; not bad for a gritty, dark side-story featuring NONE of the big SW protagonists and that has all of it's heroes die miserably. Most impressive, isn't it!

RO blows Beyond with it's lame repetition of story beats and recycled characters away like the snowflake bubble it is. Beyond is still original though compared to The Rehash Awakens, with it's MaREey Sues and EmoRens though.

I don't think Star Wars is necessarily "better" than Star Trek, it's just that everyone has different opinions and preferences, some people like SW and some people like ST. The truth is that SW has always been a much bigger and more popular movie franchise, and its many fans are very devoted, as long as you slap the name "Star Wars" on anything, it would sell a lot like hotcakes.

Although ST is also a popular franchise with a very robust and rich history, but it was largely popular for its TV series, its movies however have never been big box office draws. But that does not mean SW is necessarily "better" than ST, it's just a matter of personal preference, I personally prefer ST myself, I was never into SW and never understood why the SW movies are so popular, for me ST is better and more interesting, but that's just my own preference.

to me , the Trek universe is a lot more vast and interesting , too. Not to mention there's a hell of a lot more of it, than Wars. I enjoyed Wars, but there's just not as much material to get into. You have over 700 hours of Star Trek.

I think movies just have a bigger audience than television series. Star Trek was a hit on TV , but has never truly translated to film. With a few crossover exceptions. The Voyage Home, Wrath of Khan, First Contact, Star Trek 2009, etc
