Was Iris planning to kill Josh?

In the beginning when Iris has the knife, is she planning to kill Josh or is that just part of Josh’s setup to get her to kill Sergey?

I'm sure he packed it in her bag. Better question is why did she feel the need to put it in her pocket?
Also, how could they have predicted Sergey would have been so demanding?

Josh put it in her pocket.. so that she can find it on her own and defend herself against Sergey's rapey advances.
but Josh and Kat's plan is stupid and the biggest surprise of the movie is that .. it worked!
