Is this like Crimson Peak?

I want to check out this show. It's not in my country but I guess I can watch online or DVD etc. I love Guillermo Del Toro and his monsters obsession.

I am in the minority but I adored Crimson Peak. I thought it was beautiful. Is this like that? I can see it's not a period piece but that isn't the be all and end all

It's absolutely nothing like it.

This is absolutely nothing like Crimson Peak. Crimson Peak is a period horror story with human villains. The Strain is a modern-day horror story with fantasy villains.
