I defy you to tell me why this is a bad show!
the gloves are off!
sharei bet it's amazing to watch this while HIGH
shareIt's not a bad show. It's very entertaining, and has some interesting ideas, not to mention some fantastic actors.
It is a bit sloppy in execution at points, but you expect that from something this ambitious in scope. There have been better shows--there have even been better vampire shows.
I think of it as an extended miniseries, and I look forward to the final chapter next year.
But it's no Game of Thrones, that's for damn sure.
And people bitch about Game of Thrones too, and every other damn show on the air.
The cab driver scene from season 1.
Quite possibly the worst scene in the history of television.
Terrified customer: Drive ! Drive !
Cab driver: Why ? Why ?
Cab driver then gets vamped.
kytem2, YES!! lol. that cab scene from season 1 is truly god awful writing! i remember watching that ep/that scene and when the cab driver gets out of the F'ing cab despite OVERTLY seeing a giant nasty tongue/stinger coming out of the man's (vamp) mouth and yelling at the tv/at the writers of the show for such unforgivably bad writing.
also in season 2, Dutch and Fet going to the YMCA type of building (in the daytime, where they killed a bunch of vamps hiding in that YMCA building) decide to go skinny dipping/make out/etc at the same location but by that point IT IS NIGHTTIME/DARK OUTSIDE!! Dutch and Fet are all nonchalant/breezy just floating around in the pool with nothing to fend off any vamps who could attack them at any time! lol.
this show is enjoyable-ish to watch but it's purely a guilty pleasure type of show. the writing keeps it (for much of season 1 and season 2 as well) from being a truly good show. the vamp parts (not including the laughably terrible design FX of the Master who looked like a bloated muppet with fish lips) are VERY well done and i like the cast a lot (Zach #2 not included), etc....the elements are there for this show to be excellent but the idiotic writing stops that from happening.
