Disappointed big time with season 3.

Loved season 1, season 2 was give or take, season 3 major snoozefest and they wait until the closing episodes to kick up a storm.

One episode left to the season and it feels like I've only watched 2-3 episodes so far. Everything in season 3 at this stage can be narrowed down to one episode (or a telemovie).

What a waste. Can't wait to find out what FX thinks of the ratings.

i've enjoyed this show as a guilty pleasure but IMO it's had horrible writing from episode 1 right up to the current season it's been a poorly written, fun show. it's gotten slightly better but still not at all good writing-wise, like in tonight's ep, the fact none of the characters (only Palmer i think) felt the explosion from the nuke is absurd. bad writing.

season 3 is IMO on the same level as season 2 was (season 2 was a tiny bit better than season one writing-wise).

i DO definitely 100% agree w/ you enyala that 9 eps in and it barely feels like 2 or 3 eps story-wise have passed. the storyline has barely moved forward this season.

The show has always been a guilty pleasure and I actually did not like season 1 that much. It did have a couple of good episodes, but it was all just usual TV-cliché with terrible characters. I couldn't stand Nora's mom and Eph's son and was glad to see them go eventually. Not to mention that cheap and foreseeable season finale of S1.

Personally, I didn't expect much of season 2 but it was a big step into the right direction. With season 3 I feel like the plot is finally getting somewhere and I love the darker nature of season 3. Yes, the show has dumb moments but that has been the case since S1.

If you made it through S1 and liked it, I can't quite understand why you dislike S3 so much.

Meaning: too many filler episodes, too little story progression. I HATE fillers.

Completely disagree. Season 1 first half was amazing, then the second half was weaker, season 2 was mediocre, but now season 3 is on the right path and has had some amazing episodes.

I think overall S3 is the best season, though the first half of S1 was amazing.

Agreed. It barely holds attention. Probably comes down to them stretching three books for four seasons. They should've just kept it at three.

Actually stretching 2 books for 4 seasons. Season 1 was "the Strain". Season 2-3 is "the Fall" - and possibly season 4 as well, unless the whole Strigoi takeover/apocalypse happens in the next episode. Given how slow season 3 has progressed event-wise, it's not very likely.

PS: I don't follow spoiler sites so I can only guess based on what I see so far.
