Ugghhhh, of course the survivor of that clusterf^ck on the bridge
had to be Gus...
shareNo muss, no Gus.
Via con dios, Angel.
Why did Ferraro and friends try to flee at night? Better odds holding up over night and leaving at dawn, not that the odds were still good.

Hindsight is a bitch. They should have known if you travel at night in a city full of strigoi your gonna have a bad time.
shareI was asking the same question. Guess it makes a more exciting show, if you can bypass logic.
sharei'm bummed that Justine was killed off. that sequence on the bridge was pretty good though (except the for fact that everyone was leaving AT NIGHT!).
shareWhile I don't quite get their reasoning for fleeing a city at night, I thought the sequence was great and many went down swinging. I just fail to understand why none of these people use daytime to do this work or make plans to try to leave. You'd think they already would have known that getting out of NY would be near impossible and dangerous especially after nightfall. I was hoping Feraldo would be a mainstay charachter into the final season, really liked her charachter. I will miss her, a shame she still ended up getting a worm in the eye. I was surprised at how Angel de la plata went down also. So much of the charachter was changed in the tv show in terms of story arc, seems to be that way overall with a number of charachters. Next weeks the last episode of the season, seems like it just started and it's been a better season. Though I didn't care much for the fling between Fet and Dutch.
shareI'm sick of the Fet and Dutch thing. He's way more badass without her. Besides he's way better off with the ESU lady (Who I think is hotter anyway). Hope they don't bring her back just to kill her off in a *beep* way. I'm pissed about Justine. They should've had her captain sacrificing himself to help her and Angel get away with Gus.
shareYes I agree with your post. More than the family divorce and custody drama that was part of the season 1 story of Kelly, Zack, and Ephram, the triangle going on with Fet, Dutch, Eph is a real mess and uncessary. It does nothing to develop the core group of characters in terms of the story or their development as charachters. I know that overall, some have said the quality of writing of this show has always been part of its main problem. I am just disappointed with how the charachters have been portrayed over this season, particularly Gus, Eph, Fet, and Dutch. Last season Dr. Martinez went the way that Gus has this season. Feraldo to me was one of the best deviations from the source and they have her make bad choices in order to kill her off. People felt that the death of Nora last season would put Eph into a more focused, and results driven charachter however I don't see a transformation in this sense with him. If anything he's same a he was in all of season 2.
shareI am so sad they killed Justine off. I loved her. RIP Justine Feraldo 😢😥

"This is all very dysfunctional. Stressing the fun in dysfunctional."
Does anyone else think "budget cuts" at this stage? Killing off 3 semi-regulars in one go screams budget cuts to me.
shareMaybe, but I don't think their story would have gone very far either. Really, what was Justine going to do other than just being "another survivor"? And I can't really say that Angel was crucial to the plot either.
shareOn the contrary, the shackles had come off and Justine had tons of potential as an additional helping hand in the fight against the Strigoi. She could've easily bunked with Eph and Dutch (since the whole Lumen thing is beyond her pay grade - leave it to the bumbling old man and the rat catcher.....not to mention the Born).
She would've been a perfect fit with the brainiacs, could provide some much-needed stability and structure in an otherwise cluttered environment.
I think part of it is tied to that which may have been part of why Dr. Martinez departed before the completion of her story arc from the source material the series draws its material from partially. Angél de la plata had a more developed role and arc in the book also. I am still baffled as to what long terms impact his charachter is to the overall story of the tv show. Feraldo could have made it through the end of the series in my opinion as some of her plot could have picked up Dr. Martinez's character arc and if the writers had some talent in charachter development, I think she could be a great add on to the core team of the series. I will honestly miss her charachter. Angel, it's okay, I really do not know what they could have done with him other than to have him follow the story of his charachter from the book, but I honestly don't see what value he added in the tv show and the same with the decision to have Feraldo still perish after saving her earlier in the season. Palmer on the other hand seems to be better in the tv series at this point but I wonder if they will have him meet his demise too. What is surprising is the absence of UV in all these cases these folks are out at night. This is their or should be their failsafe rather than just using conventional weapons to gun them down and if that doesn't work then they have a real problem. Unfortunate that so much of this show has been derailed with side story that hasn't helped and deviation from the source as much as they have. One can certainly argue that the books had shares of problems as well over the three of them.
sharePrecisely.
shareYep..count me in on the leaving at night..but the folks who left earlier...remember their trucks were there..and they were gone...already turned I bet.
Poor Angel..I liked him and the Commissioner too...
