In the tunnel, she told Eph that Kelly took Zach. If she just came out and said "Eph, your son's a f^cking moron, he chose your vampire ex-wife over you" he might not have been so naive about his son's stupidity.

Going back further, it's Kelly fault for not listening to her ex-husband, a CDC DOCTOR, that it would be a good idea to pack up the kid and get the fudge outta dodge because something terrible is spreading.

Well, her Sears manager boyfriend told her to stay.

And being a manager at Sears is pretty much the same as being a CDC epidemiologist when it comes to a rapidly spreading infectious disease...

Sadly, it wouldn't have changed anything. Eph would have just convinced himself that his demon-spawn was just confused or brainwashed and all he'd have to do is reason with him and he'd see the light.

Agreed, always been bothered by the line "She took Zach." Talk about watering it down. Though I'm sure Eph would've dismissed it and still gone looking for him.
