I always wondered why they chose a smug, punk faced kid to play Zack.

Yep, actually the actor from season 1 wasn't too bad. This actor has such a hateable/punchable face its unreal.

Yes I agree, the season one Zack was a regular looking kid.

It makes you wonder why they ever cast the first kid. The recasting completely changed the character out of nowhere.

In season 1, Zach was just a regular kid who loved both of his parents.

But when season 2 started, New Zach just completely seemed to hate Eph. He couldn't wait to get away from him, he had that smug, evil look on his face, and any attempt to be sad or worried about his father and the people taking care of him seemed forced.
