Gus's storyline for season 3 (re: his mother) sucks thus far.

in eps. 1 and eps. 3 of this season Gus has been demoted/relegated to staying at his apt and draining his blood in a syringe and feeding his vamp'd mother. i thought he was working with/for the Ancients and Quinlan in trying to defeat the Master? the fact Gus just can't let go of his vamp mother now is really irritating and a letdown. i hope the writers change this storyline for Gus.

reply

Yea I thought this was very stupid. I thought he just left her and dealt with what happened. To see him feeding her is so idiotic to me and uninteresting.

I think it's mostly because how many time have we seen in shows or movies of that one character that just "can't let go" and is holding up somewhere or holding out hope for a loved one that is gone or turned. It's very cliche now to see it.

reply

i agree. oh and then to make Gus even MORE unlikable, he and Angel release vamp mom to attack the men who are simply trying to save/protect humans from the vamps. ep 3 succeeded in making both men completely unlikable/villainous. can you remind me...i thought Gus was working for/with the Ancients/Quinlan and they were attempting to stop everything. what am i forgetting/missing?

reply

This past episode, I honestly don't really remember what happened, it was VERY boring for me.

But yes, I also remember he was working with Quinlan but he seemed a bit hesitant. I don't think we're missing anything but I'm sorry I cant help you there! I get the feeling maybe they also forgot about that storyline lol

Gus was a character I liked when I thought he would be kicking vampire a$$, but this Gus? No way. Why do the writers make such stupid decisions? Also as you said, what he and Angel did was ridiculous - I don't see either of them doing such a horrible thing.

Gus's storyline for this season is great. NONEXISTENT. The less we see of this incredibly, unlikable idiotic character, the better.

reply

It was ridiculously stupid. The worst part is that it pretty much came out of nowhere.

The Master spoke through Gus' mom to taunt him, which should've made it very clear that there was no hope for her. Apparently 10+ days later, he goes home and starts feeding her bowls of his blood every day, for some reason.

It made sense that he couldn't bring himself to finish her off, but it doesn't make sense that he bleeds himself to feed her, especially after everything he's seen, and all of the vampires he's killed.

Spoilers from episode 3:

I can't believe that Angel went along with his bullsh*t. As soon as Gus started talking about saving his mother, Angel should've just said "Good luck, I'm out, you nutjob." Instead, he helps Gus wheel his mother around and even cuts her loose so she can kill the guys who are actually trying to stop the vampire apocalypse.

Gus and Angel are irredeemable. It's ridiculous that that guy conscripted them into fighting the vampires, they clearly can't be trusted, and deserve to rot in a cell. Or hell, maybe use them as bait to draw out the vampires so the good guys can kill them.

The problem is with you, bro.
You insist on taking a show about strigoi seriously, like characters should act according to your perception of normal in a complete fantasy show. Geez, get real.

The whole thing's a joke and to b enjoyed as such. Notice how none of the characters take themselves seriously, least of all Gus. Try it.

Please, get off your high f^cking horse. I bet if we were talking about the $hit show that inspired your name, you'de be taking things just as seriously. Dispute his point if you'de like, but don't pull the "dude, it's fake" nonsense, because that standard can be applied to any film/series, and is completely irrelevant in every case.

Just put that idiot on your ignore list. I did and the thread got a lot better... I never saw anything from him but troll posts before anyways.

As opposed to the $hit show that inspired you're $hit avatar. Go crawl in your hole of hypocrisy you laughable little troll.

More laughs. Your psychobabble is laughable. It is fake, so get a life, even if that's impossible for your ilk.
Anybody reading your garbage has lost tons of brain cells just for having read the trashy babble you just spewed.
Another thing, seriously spell check is your friend, bro.

One of the few subplots from the book they're actually keeping in. Don't really see any issue with it.

reply

so bentstrider, in the books Gus went from working with/for Quinlan and the ancients in trying to stop the Master to (within maybe 2 or 3 days time) completely stopping working with them and instead just staying in his apt draining his blood to feed his mother? really?

reply

I understand that was his breakdown after that plan to infiltrate the tower fell, and those Hindi guys he befriended, skidaddled. I bet his mother wasn't even alive/still home by that point. The writers just made it all up (again).

reply

Hey, did his mom die in this episode? I couldn't tell. Maybe she attacked those cops and got away, to be found by Gus again.

reply

Yeah, it's very weak. Hopefully it's over now. Beside that it has been a pretty good season.

reply

For some reason Gus went full retard this season. It's painful to watch. That whole Weekend at Bernie's scene with mom in the wheelchair was brutally bad. Plus he got good men killed.
