Could the kid be written any worse ?

Yes it was, the whole I HATE YOU and the resulting reaction uggggh. That scene would have been better if it were Eichorest or Palmer/the master who set it off. A fit of rage in the worst child charachter ever in a tv series detonates a bomb and gets even more people killed who had survived up to that moment. I am curious how this will be revealed next season that Eph's son was responsible for foiling Setrakian's and the team's plan.

the only other character that i've hated as much as Zach is Chris on FEAR THE WALKING DEAD. that's saying something because i HATED HATED Chris on that show thankfully he's been killed off. now if only that would be the case on STRAIN.

It's ridiculous how he doesn't seem to understand ANYTHING.

They repeatedly tell him that's not his mother anymore, it's a monster using his mother's body and memories.

-He lets her into Fet's place, and she attacks Eph. He shouts "NO, STOP!" but Eph gets the upper hand and shoots at her, a kritter kid jumps in front and takes the shot, she escapes.

-They tell Zach not to be such a f^cking idiot and he says he understands, but of course he doesn't.

-Nora tries to protect Zach and get him to safety but they come across Kelly. Nora starts fighting with her and has the upper hand, but Zach shouts "NO, STOP!" and distracts her, allowing Kelly to kill her. Zach is fine with this and leaves with his vampire mother.

-At one point Zach asks his mom when he can see his father, clearly STILL NOT F^CKING GETTING IT, but apparently still wanting a relationship with Eph, which is odd because he's hated his father ever since the recasting.

-His vampire mother attacks his father, again, he shouts "NO, STOP!" and Eph finally defeats his vampire ex-wife. Eph, thinking he just rescued his son because Nora lied to him before she died, is glad to see his son but Zach detonates a nuke because he's a f^cking idiot.

I haven't been able to stand Zach at all. Every time Eph wants him back, I'm just like, why? This kid is an idiot. Too bad he didn't blow himself up instead of the whole city.

I bet most of you didn't think he would do it, that he would just drop the trigger run to his father and cry it out. At least they did something unusual for once in an American TV show.

Well we're officially in uncharted territory now as far as most characters go. Which means that Zach might not even die at all as opposed to getting vaporized by the nuke in book 3.

Damn, and here I was looking forward to seeing him die at some stage.

I've hated that little bastard since day one.

I've hated that brat since season 1 and don't understand why they have kept him since they are not following the books. The only reason I can think of is that the writers think keeping him alive will keep us watching in the hopes he will die.
That was just plain bad writing though. The kid hates his dad so he blows up the city. I was rolling my eyes by the time the mother died. I knew something bad was going to happen only unfortunately not to the people I wanted it to happen to: Eph and the Brat.
