Informative but lacking info on meters other than Electric.
I purchased the DVD out of concerns for meters which are being installed in my area. In MY case the meters are for gas and water. So far, I am questioning our electric meters.
The movie deals with electric meters and there is only casual mention of possible problems related to gas or water meters.
There seems to be some compelling concerns about "remote wireless read" meters and signals they emit and how frequently these signals are emitted. While I understand the benefits of not having a person enter a property to read a meter each month, I most certainly question and have concerns with meters that have continuous "real time" monitoring of energy usage. Readings need only be taken monthly for proper billing purposes. Our old water meter operated on such a principal where a truck visited the neighborhood each month and the readings were wirelessly collected at that time. The new meters are said to transmit signals in "real time" to an antenna several miles away which sends the data in real time, to the utility.
The DVD offers a decent amount of information about the hazards and problems with such meters but offers little as to how one can accurately identify the meters they have and how often it transmits data etc. It also doesnt offer real solutions as to what recourse a person has if they have offending meters on their property. It makes no real mention of meters for gas and water in the movie although they are mentioned on the back cover of the DVD. I would like to see more information on these meters as well and how to identify their operating characteristics.
Basically we need MORE info.
