Great Film School Study in How Not to Make a Remake
VERY painful to sit through. A Middle Eastern swashbuckler with heavy Game of Thrones overtones; I'm surprised the sex scene ended on the cutting room floor. LOVE the comments about how it would have been a better movie without Jesus --- innocently offered (I hope) as a result of the atrocious treatment of that KEY figure in the story in the ridiculous screenplay. Screenplay needs a Razzie.
It should have been prefaced with a statement, "Based somewhat on a novel written a long time ago, but modified to include all elements deemed key to attracting under 30's to the theater."
Did I not see a female character in an early scene riding a horse wearing PANTS? And Judah looked like half his wardrobe was sourced from J. Crew.
HORRIBLE!
