The ending. (SPOILERS)

I see NO ONE is talking about the absurd ending. First i want to say, is not that bad of remake, its actually quiet enjoyable, not as good as the first one but good in its own thing.

But the ending i just dont like it and it bothers me alot. People complain too much for being a remake, but cmon!

So in the ending Messala becomes best friends for the whole family like nothing happened, yeah right. I can maybe swallow the thing that Judah forgives him because everything and the whole Jesus thing, and doesnt want to fight anymore, i can buy that somehow, but that his sister and mother will be like "Hi friend, its ok for trying to kill us and get us trow in jail to become leapers for 10 years, but who cares lets just be a happy family, *beep* us, who gives a *beep* NOPE! They did not go any spiritual change, they did not see Jesus, they were rotting in a hole. So if they try to make me believe they just will forget something like that. That is *beep*

If the ending would have been different or perhaps being like the original, i would have give it a better score, but that lame ass ending sucks and i dont buy it for a second that would ever happen.

its 6-7/10, this movies has problems but its fine, its just the ending!

What are your toughs about the ending? You believe that that would ever happen?

Ps: Im not a native english speaker so if they are typos, well too bad :D

There have definitely been comments before, from myself and others, about how stupid this ending was.

I think that the filmmakers wanted to put forth the message that "everything is better with Jesus". They would have done a better job of getting their message across if they had done it in a more realistic way, instead of having the mystical hand of god erase all the past and make everybody starry-eyed with love for one another once again.

AFAIC, to forgive is a good thing, but, that said, to invite a guy who has tried to kill you and your entire family back into your life to get jiggy with your sister is just plain suicidal and stupid. Judah should have thrown a few coins Messala's way to set him up with a nice room somewhere and some slave women to take care of him, but he should never have allowed him back within 100 yards of the family.

The ending would've been better if they kept it duller and bleak, but it was all like happy and colorful and everyone had haircuts and had showered. Ending was too clean.. needed some dirt

Eh, BEN-HUR has to have the lepers healed and Judah getting over his bitterness; although Messala's fate usually differed in versions.
