It's tracking for $11M. Not good, but not a horrible opening weekend.

I'm honestly a bit surprised that they made a sequel. The first movie was very good, but it only opened to $14M domestically. Quite honestly, $11M in its first weekend (a 22% drop) isn't horrific for a sequel released 5 years after the original. Usually the longer you wait to do a sequel, the less money it will make. Look at Sin City 2 for example--the first Sin City was well-liked but it was released 9 years after the first one and thus bombed hard at the box office.

I've seen $11-$15 million. It's a decent opening in my opinion. It might have a decent hold in it's second weekend as well. I have a feeling that this will make most of it's money on video like the original did.

Yeah, I got the $11M number from this site that usually does a pretty good job at predicting the box office.

BTW, I saw Still Alice today. Very good movie. Julianne Moore gives a fantastic performance. I wanted to see it before the Oscars to see what Moore's performance is about since she is heavily favored to win Best Actress and has won at the SGA's/Golden Globes. I do recommend it.
