i know I'm not supposed to laugh at Gay jokes but

The anal raping, that in ten years time it is considered primetime reality TV... That we actually might reach there in less than ten years is a joke itself.

How they try to turn it into a homie bonding moment instead of rape, "are we calling it rape?" Rob raping (and then skinning) the tiger in the painting and calling himself the violator...

I can see how groups of people can get offended, and I can see why critics would play it safe and just flat out pan the movie, but I'm glad I watched it. "Take that dick" was worth it, while the other one is trying to confirm its a homie love situation.

Clever people will recognize and tolerate nothing but cleverness.

While I wouldn't pretend that there isn't some homophobia in the film, I don't believe that it's malicious. If one of the characters "came out" for example, they wouldn't bludgeon them to death as the devil or anything, would they. They would almost certainly accept their sexuality (but just make lots of gay jokes)

It's hard for me to judge. I suspect some gay people would take offence at it while others would not. I do believe, however, that there is huge difference between malicious homophobia (filled with hatred and discrimination) and cultural homophobia (that's so gay)

Its not really anti-gay but its a commentary on how straight guys feel about gay acts....to them its literally the worst thing that can happen to you, worse than death.

Why aren't you supposed to laugh at gay jokes? If it's a joke, then it's meant to be funny, and meant to be laughed at.

reply

Why can't you laugh at gay jokes? Gays are naturally pathetic and funny, it's natural to laugh.

A. Nothing actually happened, it was all virtual.
B. It was a commentary on how stupid reality TV is and where it could be possibly headed. We already have young women whoring themselves out on national TV (bachelor, bachelorette) What's next?

reply

Even if it wasn't offensive, the film is far less than the sum of it's parts. Just terribly made.
