Loved it
Just completed the entire show in under two weeks.
Season 1 - As with first seasons, it really serves as an introduction to the story. In saying that, this was a really good season. Getting used to Klaus being such a broken soul and doing things his way was a bit baffling to watch, but it made for extremely compelling viewing. Love that witches get so much story, usually it's all about vampires and werewolves.
Season 2 - This was a fantastic season, which was was intense, thrilling and with a lot of heart. I loved that all the family members appeared in this. I disliked the recasting of the mother immensely, although I think the creators thought an older woman would be taken more seriously as a mother than the young actress who played the mother.
Season 3 - Terrible season. So much melodrama. There was in the previous seasons, but it got turned up so much in this. The 3 villains, Tristan, Lucien and Aurora were forgettable. Awful decision to turn Camille into a vampire. She should've stayed human throughout, she is the connection to the audience. Marcel turning into a monster like Lucien was just lazy writing. The best parts were when the family of Mikaelson's were going at each other.
Season 4 - This season was excellent. Really enjoyed it, especially since it focused so much on magic. The struggles of the family against an all powerful witch, and Elijah coming to terms with himself being a monster was great to see.
Season 5 - Season was ok. Teenage Hope was nice to see. The Finale was overly emotional and dragged quite a bit, however those last moments between Klaus and Elijah really got to me.
Really good that the show doesn't mind killing off beloved characters. Love the lore of this show. It's incredibly interesting. Personally, this show had a really strong impact on me. Going to miss these people together very much.
It's a wonderful show.
