ok I just watched all of VD and Originals and I noticed something about him.

Elijah, rarley drinks blood (at least on screen)

In fact, in all the eps I countes only 3 actual scenes. First one really dont count because he took Hailey blood for a spell. Second time, was the Tatia flashback when he drank her dead. Then there was one in his dream world that his Mom put him in, it doesnt count. the 3 time was when we sipped the vision girl of Lucians.

Other than that he has never drank from a person, or killed one that way. He is barley shown drinking it other ways either.

I wonder if this is intentional, it has to be right?

He the gentleman vampire I know, so is that why?

Btw, after my extensive examination, I just love the litte things, Daniel bring to the role.

he fussiness,with blood residue from his heart rippings. lol

and his adorable way he sasses his finger at people, and calmly waits and then like pow, out goes the hearts.

What are your thought?

Well, I think he drank the Strix witch in 3x14, he bit Sabine, didn't he drink people and kill in a few of the flashbacks so far in TO? I think it's been shown less than other characters but he's drank blood like the rest. Which is good, makes no sense to keep showing a vampire not being a vampire.

Elijah does drink blood but sophistically from glass and most probably in hidings. It is not possible for him to survive without drinking blood. He is after all a vampire. Even Hayley has not been shown to drink blood alot but again she is a hybrid who will eventually become weak if they dont drink blood and that too from a human/ animal. Knowing Elijah I doubt he would drink from an animal.

I seem to recall these discussions on the board a long time ago. If you know his history with Red door then you would know why he does not like blood on his clothes or why does he uses that cute napkin of his to clean himself everytime he sees blood or why does he not drink in front of people. And hence the gentleman vampire.

yeah just rewatched the whole show, I almost never seen him drink blood, assume he does this off screen.

which makes me wonder if was on purpose.

I love that Elijah is so prim, with the killing. He rips out hearts, and then pulls of a hanky.

He is my favorite character, more because that.

It aslo shows a side of restraint, he has the abilty and could kill at random, he chooses not too. I like that human part thats left.

they finally gave a little to Kol and Klaus with finding love in human women.

True! I do remember Davina giving him a drop of her blood after she pulled the dagger out of him.
