shareI don't know. The show was cancelled in the UK and is shown on Amazon Prime only. It means nothing as they cancelled Once Upon A Time after 2 seasons.

shareEven if the 4th season is the last, the show had a good run. 80 episodes is more than many shows get. A show like GoT will have to go 8 seasons (which they will) to get 80 episodes. But the executives sound hopeful for a 5th TO season.
shareHonestly and I know some will disagree with me, I think all shows should end after 4 or 5 seasons since after that most of them start phoning it in since they can't think of anything and I personally get bored after that anyway.

Farscape is one of only a few shows I love more than this, all science fiction- and it was four seasons and the miniseries but I never felt cheated. The story was complete, had amazing pacing. A lot of shows end up having off-seasons, despite staying a great show altogether when they run for more than five seasons.
When I think about the last three seasons, and the same dedication to a fourth season with a conclusive last episode, it doesn't make me sad to think of The Originals having four seasons. It makes me think of all the long running shows I have on DVD and the seasons of which I rarely watch more than a few episodes whereas Farscape, I struggle just watching single episodes because I have to keep going.
I agree with you, as long as a show concludes its arcs, four or five seasons is perfect.
