Have you guys seen the BTS pix on twitter? They are so tight lipped this year after last year fiasco that even the picture are not depicting ANYTHING. And only one or two people are posting. Controlled release of information.

What happened last year was a trainwreck as far as leaks go. I really feel for everyone- now that it's been plugged, after the damage it caused- the normal tiny little things a show would let slide won't be as relaxed for them.

What happened last year? I've just caught up now on Netflix UK so wasn't paying attention to any BTS stuff as TO was airing to avoid spoilers until I could catch up

All major plot points were spoiled/leaked online by someone that must have worked on the show. If I'm remembering correctly they leaked it to a Klaroline fan account on Twitter or tumblr, and I recall it began around Christmas time last year so the spoilers were mostly for the second half of the season.
I think the first major spoiler that was leaked was Jackson's death and they leaked details of who killed him. I can't remember if the big "death" in the mid-season finale was leaked, but what Cami chose to do in the next episode was leaked. Then it was just everything, including about the crossover with Davina breaking the sire line and ressurecting Kol, Aya's death etc.
I think then another set of spoilers (presumably from the same person) leaked that sounded so ridiculous and like an annoyed fan had made them up. These ones spoiled that Lucien would become a "hybrid" and kill Finn and then Cami, and that Davina daggers Kol then he kills her when the dagger is removed, then all the stuff about Davina destroying the ancestral plane.
I'm sure there was more that was spoiled, I can't remember if the stuff about Marcel becoming "the beast" that was in the prophecy was leaked or if the stuff about Klaus sacrificing himself for his family and then all being asleep in their coffins at the end of he season was spoiled.
But yeah, pretty much all the major plot points and character deaths in Season 3 were leaked. This season has been pretty quiet on the spoilers front though, so hopefully they fired the prick!
The spoiler about Cami's turning was laughed at and it turned out to be true to the last detail (the detail included her and Kalus sleeping together and then her slicing her own throat under Aurora's compulsion) and then how how Jackson's heart will used to break the sire-line somehow and that too happened.
Lucien did become hybrid-- better than that but yes technically hybrid. He did end up killing Finn and Cami. I remember people laughing at these ones too. I had read that Elijah will kill Marcel before the episode was aired but not the beast part.

I put hybrid in quotations because that's what the spoilers said, which sounded ridiculous seeing as Lucien was not a werewolf.
I still wouldn't call him a hybrid though, hybrids are werewolfs and vampires, we never saw Lucien turn into a wolf. The wolf venom was just in his bite from the spell. There needs to be a new name for whatever he and Marcel became.
I just call them Enhanced Originals.
