1) It's only 13 episodes which is a not good sign.
2) Ratings started strong at season 1 with 2,21 rating and plummeted below 0.85 in the end of season 3.
3) This season the far more popular TVD series will end so it's logical to end this series too especially if ratings continue to slip.

Im torn between if it will be the last or if it will get a season 5 so they can bring the vampire diaries characters in, and keep the vampire shows going one more season
shareI really don't know what will happen with this show. Logic tells me that it will be cancelled, but at the same time, if it remains steady enough in the ratings at around 0.4 (these are the Neilsen ratings that matter to networks, not the viewership numbers that you have posted) then perhaps they might keep it knowing that it is solid enough compared to other shows on the network.
Everything on the CW is down in the ratings, so the standard for ratings is down across the board, all the DC shows have hit series lows in the ratings (if I recall correctly). Supergirl isn't the smash number 1 hit that they hoped it would be. Both of their new shows are (sadly) doing terribly in the ratings despite post Flash and Arrow slots, and have little chance of the critical acclaim and awards that saved Crazy Ex Girlfriend last season, so they will likely be cancelled.
I think then, with TVD already cancelled, and the likelihood of Reign being cancelled, plus the potential for Crazy Ex Girlfriend to be cancelled (unless she wins that Golden Globe again), that is potentially 5 shows gone from their lineup. The CW will be hesitant to cancel the shows that are longstanding and predictable in the ratings. It might be a toss up between The Originals, The 100 and iZombie, but it all depends on how they do coming in at mid season.
If the Originals can remain stable, at a 0.3 or 0.4 it might be safe. You never know with the CW, after they renewed their entire line up for this season.
If this is the final season, I would be sad, but okay with it as long as they were given prior warning and are able to put a proper ending in place.

I think that since this is the last vampire show alive on network right now (correct me if I am wrong), the network might keep it. Make it mid-season show with 13 or even less episodes every season and keep on dragging it. I just hope that with network dragging the show, the writers do a good job and not drag the stories. In a way that will be good. We will have less episodes per season so they can focus on the story rather than giving filler episodes.

"Right now" is correct but CW is developing a new vampire show based on the (awesome) movie Lost Boys (1987).

I hope that TO originals gets another season 5 similar spinoff Angel did when Buffy went off the air but if it is 4 season please no absolutely no cliffhangers. I put up with that for almost 10 years now with what happen to Angel please if the TO only have season 4 lets wrap it up very great because I don't what to feel the same way I felt after what Angel series did in its series finale. Please learn for history writers.

We've had three great seasons, and watching The Vampire Diaries- the show going out on the notes it has hit every season? As long as I get no cliffhanger, I'll be happy- more than anything all I want is a whole complete story and exactly like the past three years. With characters I adore, mains where there is no Matt- no character whose sole point is who they can be shipped with- plot and family first, always first over romance.

I expected more from Westwind. I guess one can say whatever about TVD/TO but I like almost every lead except for Matt, Enzo and Jackson. On WW I only care about the Queen of Louisiana.

shareI disagree, though it is possible. Cws two new fall shows bonbed and are going to be cancelled. Tvd is ending. Thats already 3 shows being done. Reign is also likely done as it got 16 episodes likely for it to wrap up the story. The cw isnt likely to cancel more than 4 shows. So barring any surprises, the originals is safe.
