Aurora, Tristan and Lucien --- why

I get why Klaus killed Lucien...
I get why he didnt kill Aurora.

What I dont get is why didnt they kill Tristan.... Did it have anything to do with Elijah since he was Elijah's first "child" and they had a bond? OR was it because dying everyday under the ocean was a worse punishment? I can see the later explanation to justify their actions but then why didn't they do similar to Lucien too?

They needed to use the serratora. Killing Tristan in front of his troops would have started a big battle they might not have won.

Hmm.. SO killing Lucien wouldnt have caused that problem?
He has a huge werewolf army and what not from what I understood.

As for serratora, did they put it in that container locking Tristan in?

Yes, they used the serratora on Tristan's container. Once it was activated by Vincent, it could not be deactivated it had to be used.

I don't think Lucien had any werewolf army, he was killing werewolves. If a bunch of old vampires had TO trapped, it could be a problem, but they did not. Tristans group had Hayley held hostage so action needed to be taken.

Agreed, they needed to lock someone away with it so it wouldn't be used against the Mikaelsons.

I'm kind of surprised that they didn't bring back Tristan's character, usually in TVD and TO, when a character is not really "killed", they come back later.

or even killed they are brought back, they want Kai back, hes pretty dead, Kol was dead twice

The only reason Kol was able to come back is because the 1st time he was brought back before other side collapsed, the second time because he died in a witches body and was consecrated. None of that happened with Kai. He wasnt consecrated, there is no other side and without those two you cant be brought back. (Except at one point Phoenix Stone vampires or 1 time prison world - both of which are gone). So bringing Kai back would be a huge retcon of so much on these shows.

Though Julie Doesnt actually care about logic or keeping up with the facts in her own show so....

I honestly felt terrible for Tristan's fate to continuously drown over and over again locked in a shipping container is a brutal punishment. If I was Tristan I would've ripped my heart out when it was clear that would be my fate.

When he 1st got put in there, he didn't have to deal with the drowning because Aya's witches pulled his soul into a chambre de chasse (kinda like the one the Mikaelsons are in now) snd so mentally he was safe and couldn't feel it. Until Freya destroyed that realm in 3x14. So the first 3 months (dec2013/3×10 - March 2014/3×14) he was fine, but once the chambre broke, he went back to drowning and has no time or energy to do anything about it.

Because Tristan had killed Jackson they wanted him to suffer brutally. They viewed this as a fate worse than death. It would also punish Aurora because she had to know her brother was in pain and neither of them could stop it.
