I have complain with both writers just because of the disconnect I feel between their interviews and their narratives but I FEEL that

MN is brutal in his narrative of the characters. He understands the character really well. The depth of the development/ build up is really amazing save a few handful of cases. MN has guts to make a decision even if it kills him.
JP is romance junkie which is required in a show IMO. A dry show is not really interesting. I think she has great idea but... (con)

I really dont see a con in MN writing pov unless I start to compare the interviews and the narrative.
I think JP does not have guts to make a shocking decision like e.g. writing a character off. I dont doubt it for a moment that keeping characters like Rebekah, Josh, Elena alive is JP decision when they have even lost the actors. She is not even brave enough to replace those actors permanently for whatever the reason. JP even though is a romance junkie she messes up somehow in the narrative. Her great idea loses something in implementation.

Klaus didnt get them made. They were made by the hunters. IIRC Alexander tried to "kill" Rebekah and others with it but Klaus couldnt be put down. Klaus got hold of them after he took care of those hunters.
And teaming up Klaus and Dahlia against Elijah was a stupid plot.

Not killing Tristan and Aurora was a WTF moment.
. Carina said that Aurora was not killed because the actress was not available. Someone on this board siad that as per some deleted scene or an interview perhaps, she (Aurora) was kept alive because they think that she knew strix so she might have something that can cure Rebekah. But since both of them are not cannon,
I think Klaus couldnt bring himself to kill Aurora because he still had feelings for her which is also what Cami feared.
Kol return was great until they killed off Davina.
Davina death was long time coming with her dabbling with dark magic and all but the way she died was sad even for me.
Lucien was great but they made he and Marcel too strong and we didn't see a real fight.
Really? Lucien and Klaus and Hayley had a great fight. Unless a "real fight" means they should have beaten lucien to pulp they did have a real fight in which Lucien won spectacularly, even brought Klaus to his knees until Elijah and Freya came to their aid and took care of his powers.
Over all season 4 we need more family not less
If Family means just Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, Freya, Hayley, Hope, Klaus and screw others then no.. what we have is nauseatingly more than enough but I unfortunately think we will get more.
What I would love to see is for Elijah and Freya to deal with the fall out of their rash decisions and then they move on to the path of recovery. if that is not resolved then ...

No..family based on the Mikealsons Vs. them. Josh, Hayley and Hope are still babies against centuries of old enemies. But the Mikealson 5 should be the focus.
Really? Lucien and Klaus and Hayley had a great fight. Unless a "real fight" means they should have beaten lucien to pulp they did have a real fight in which Lucien won spectacularly, even brought Klaus to his knees until Elijah and Freya came to their aid and took care of his powers.
You mentioned 1 fight which was good along with the 1st Lucien Vs Klaus but, Lucien Vs Eli, all 3 Mikealsons Vs Marcel was not a competitive fight at all. They didn't give one hit. I would have liked to see some good moments and trash talking from the 3 brothers.

I think they are already the focus while rest are screwed. Hayley is the only one who is not Mikaelson by blood but since she is one of the main characters and has a strong bond with the Mikaelson and by extension Mikaelson some focus on her is not really a bad thing. If they dont do that then her connection with the family will not be justified. Same goes for Marcel whom I am hoping will get a relatively major role in s4. Hope and Josh didnt really get any focus last season. Hope situation will change obviously next season since she is a MIkaelson.
The thing is that this show is def. about Mikaelson family and I do get what fans were promised when the show was announced but why do the fans not dwell into the reason of why Hayley, Hope and Marcel were given such a strong connection to Mikaelson family.... I dont think this show was ever meant to be just about those three original Mikealsons and their PAST 1000 year of history (Kol and Finn were already killed before the show started so I dont think they were ever meant to be part of it). There was a reason Hope and Hayley and Marcel were introduced and there is a reason they get focus.
Saying that I am still convinced that this show will continue to show down Mikaelson sick bond on us till the very end.

Marcel is an uber vampire now and it is understandable that he got the upper hand. If he had not then it wouldnt have made sense to make him uber. There CAN be some powerful creature than the Originals. Even if they are not powerful the Originals CAN Be taken down using brains; If Marcel used his brains and used the most lethal weapon against the Originals he had by biting Elijah and Kol then all the powers they had were useless against him.
Lucien versus Elijah, when? Mystic Falls? If yes then I think he was taken by surprise. He didnt realize the power of Lucien and also Lucien was uber by then so yeah no match for Elijah regardless of his 1000 years of experience.
