"...and he smiles." End of Season 4

https://twitter.com/AnthonyKountz?lang=en

Anthony is the 1st AD on TO and he posted a pic of the final line in S4's script. "...and he smiles."

1. Who is "he?"

2. What kind of smile, e.g., evil or happy?

3. Why is he smiling?

I'm assuming it's Klaus.

My hope is it's a genuine smile from Klaus when he sees Caroline. ๐Ÿ˜ But this show has rarely, if ever, gone in the direction I want it to go, so...๐Ÿ˜’

I still say it has a good chance of ending with a Mikaelson ball, Klaus is on the balcony overlooking the ballroom and he smiles seeing his family together and happy. ๎ธ

Or maybe he's finally dying and someone (one of his siblings or Hope) gives him a happy memory as he lay dying. ๎‚ƒ

Or it's an evil smile cause he has a plan that will come to fruition in S5.๎€ผ๎‚

Of course, it could also be Marcel and if it's him, I'm 100% on board with "evil smile" cause he's got some other plan to rid NOLA of the Mikaelsons in S5...๎€ท๎€ธ๎™

Maybe it's Elijah. He smiles because he sees Hayley.๎€ธ

No definitely Klaus coz if this turns out to the final season they want to end it with KLAUS since this show is basically about him.

Maybe it's Elijah. He smiles because he sees Hayley.

ummm.. I am inclining towards Klaus smiling at his family but this is possible too.

(at least the smile whoever it is implies that it is a happy ending of the season/series)

This one. He is at that place where he is not restless anymore. Satisfied in his life. His journey to "redemption" finding peace with himself is almost over.

Also it feels like they ended the series on a note that if season 5 does not come, this will serve as series ending.

Which I'd be happy with- it's how a show from my childhood ended (well, last two episodes were done out of order), The Secret World of Alex Mack. This would make me so happy, I need a good ending- The Vampire Diaries has turned into an uphill battle and to be entirely honest, I've decided I hope Stefan dies. Damon- if he can't be human and happy with Elena, put the poor guy out of his misery and we see Elena again, a way for her to be reunited with her friends without Bonnie dying.

I've remembered what I hated about Season One/Two, that sense there was a lack of hope and they were all screwed. Sorry, between bad acting and Kevin Williamson- The Originals is my happy place.

Roswell's final episode was made into an impromptu series finale and still stands as one of the better ones. It sounds like they have heads up.

Yeah I want happy ending too. From my understanding of this ending of season it feels that it will end on a happy note regardless of whoever is smiling in the final scene (I do think it will be Klaus). And if this turns out to be the series ending then all the better because that means Joseph didnt get his wish; Klaus death.

Why do you want Stefan to die? I have to admit that I think he will die after getting his the happy moment with Caroline, maybe even after the wedding, if they get married.

I want Damon to die from what I am hearing about him. Dont care about Elena at all.

Apart from Paul Wesley phoning it in- you need to be a good actor to not give it a hundred percent and his scenes have become so painful to watch. Other than that, it's the entire Stefan narrative. Damon, at least had his humanity off and is under the influence of the Siren who replaced Elena in his memories. Stefan isn't the only one I hate at the moment- Alaric and what he did to Caroline last episode was revolting. The pity is he's in an episode of The Originals this season so unless the season takes place at the same timeframe, I don't think I'm getting rid of him.

Bonnie, Caroline and Enzo are about the only characters I really like at the moment. Damon's character keeps getting under written to try and buff Stefan- who constantly gets and uses excuses than face his own faults. Also doesn't help Stefan is played by a weaker actor. Ian's no Joseph Morgan by any means but he can at least put across his base character.

Frell, that's depressing. I'm of the 'I want the Mikaelsons and extended family to have a happy ending where none of them have to die' camp.

I have to agree with this one... Paul's acting.... He has lost interest in the show.

๎† but he is starting to look psycho..

As per Candice new interview there is going to be a time jump but not as long as three years. I am hoping it is just a couple of months to get to june wedding. There are couple of other possibilities.

1) This particular time jump Candice is talking about is two years which brings TVD to TO time table. Alaric can visit any time.

2) This particular time jump is a couple of months. They all have moved on with their lives after tvd ended two years ago. In TO time period, Alaric visits NOLA to have some business with Elijah.

I think we will get this.

Reminds me of how Buffy ended when her sister asked her "What's next?" after they defeated their enemies, destroying an entire town.

The only Original I see in the cast read for the final episode is Joseph (Klaus)! Maybe Elijah, Rebekah and Kol are just off screen.

reply

I hope Klaus is "he" and he has a happy smile.

reply

Klaus smiling at his family, even if this isn't the series finale, it'll be the first season ending on a happier note.

reply

"...and he smiles" really depends on whether TO is cancelled or not. If the writers are aware it's cancelled and wrote it as a finale, I see this being Klaus's death. He's at peace knowing his family is safe and he can finally rest.

If they're still hoping for a season 5, but are unsure of whether they're getting it, it's probably just a happy (for now) ending, where everything seems to be in a good place. So if they get another season they can return and disrupt it.

reply

Agreed

reply

If TVD is brought to TCA and TO is brought along with it then prepare for the cancellation during the event. If it doesn't then it could live for a short season and then get axed next year,

reply

Could it be Elijah?
