Why were the witches trying to kill Hayley's baby? I forgot.

Sabine had a vision that Hope will be the death of all witches. This could possibly be false as it was used to precipitate the death of Agnes.
Esther wanted her dead bc of Dahlia.

Why were the witches trying to kill Hayley's baby? I forgot.

Mainly because the witches were led to believe that she would be the death of all witches but that wasn't true.

Truth:
Klaus's mother Esther (who's a elder on the other side) made them believe that because she wanted Klaus's baby dead because she once made a deal with her wicked witch of a sister for the first born child of every generation. As long as the baby live her sister Dahl is can come back and claim it as her own .
