Why is Alaric coming to NOLA?

He is coming in episode 8 so it is not like he is coming to provide help to break the curse (his daughters being witches and all) so why is he coming? From what he know he is coming to handover an artifact to Elijah.. what is that about? Since Hope is going to be a major part of the season, do you suppose

1) it has something to do with her? Are his daughters more powerful than Hope/ Freya?

2) He took something from NOLA (those cursed objects) to help protect his daughters and is returning it back?

In the same article that talks about him crossing over it also says the twins are being chased by a siren. And it is speculated that a character named Samir that appears 1 episode before Alaric is a Siren. So it possibly has something to do with that.

Alaric was running the Armory, a place full of magical artifacts that maybe has the right "deus ex machina" to kill Marcel, or heal Becks. Or it is a gift for the upcoming triple wedding Klaus/Caroline + Elijah/Hayley + Stefan/Freya .

Because of this I am not sure if Alaric part is true since I dont want tvd now. There cannot be triple wedding. One maybe, not a chance in hell for triple wedding esp with these couples.

I can only dream, last season was a little too dark for my taste. Although I'd be okay with any combination of these 6.

we might have a problem with ANY Combinations since at least in one combination one of the bro is getting hitched with his sister...

on the other hand imagine Caroline with Elijah... Now that would be really interesting.

 Although I am a big fan of Game of Thrones and for reasons beyond my comprehension I still watch Shadowhunters, so I'm used to love among siblings.
Plus there must be a reason Klaus always chases away / kills any of Rebekah's lovers.

Alaric is bringing a vial of the cure to Elijah for Rebecca. That's the only way to cure her of the curse. However Klaus is back,and he plans on using it on Marcel instead .

Hope he gets it for Marcel. Good for him if he manages to do it... But I think he will not be able to.

Thats not true. The cure at the time would be in either Enzo, Damon or Stefan, and if they lose the cure then they die. And even if Alaric was willing to let that happen, he's not going to give the cure to someone he doesn't even care about, especially when he doesn't even know anythings wrong with her. Plus the article says he's bringing something fftom the Armory, the cure is not from the Armory. And spoilers have said Aurora is the key to curing Rebekah since she knows what it is, so all they have to do is wake her up and force her to tell them. And Rebekah and Kol leave town around episode 3 or 4 and both are already cured, Alaric comes in episode 8.
