your favourite scene
or scenes in this film, what was it?
shareMarc and Kay dancing in the discotec, hands down. I could watch it on a loop. The actors have serious chemistry but are obviously also having a lot of fun. We get so few scenes like that between the characters where they're just freely enjoying themselves and having a good time. The best scenes in the film really are the relationships ones, not sexual.
shareI must watch that again.
For me, it is the 40th minute. Kay came shouting into the cummunal, opps, i mean communal shower.
Whoa dude. You've got serious problems. Overly obsessed with sex and penises. I'm going to assume it's because you're lacking. Now go jerk off somewhere else.
shareI began to wonder how long it was going to take with you, scifi, before you saw through the kid(as am all but sure that is what he is,or deeply immature if adult) for the sad troll he is. Hopefully he will get the message now and as you said, go elsewhere.
If he returns, don't feed him.
Btw, my apogies if i have unintentionally offended anyone.
shareI just think he is a beauty that deserves to be appreciated from every angle.
shareFor me, the best scene in the film is the one where Marc goes to Kay's apartment after the raid on the gay bar. Marc tries to read the riot act to Kay, but Kay is ready for anything Marc might throw at him (whether it's a punch or an accusation). Kay then turns the scene around and reads the riot act to Marc, who's totally unprepared and crumbles under the onslaught.
Just a fu*cking brilliant scene, and Koffler & Riemelt knock it right out of the park.
Dramatically, oh yeah. It is definitely the best scene in the whole film. I'd agree with you there. The scene's brilliant, the actors are brilliant, the exchange is emotionally charged... totally. Marc confronts him but Kay doesn't back down or make it easy. Kay also calls Marc out on his hipocrasy and selfishness. It's amazingly written and acted. Well done all around, really.
shareI totally agree with you. The beauty and intensity of this particular scene made me fall in love with the characters and the movie. The pain, anger and passion with which Kay tells Marc he loves him and Marc's equally powerful and, at the same time, powerless reaction just made me feel as if I were one of them. I have watched this scene over and over again just to take in all the beauty of Koffler and Riemelt's astonishing acting. Rarely have I been moved by a scene like this one.
Another scene that touched my soul is when they go running together and Marc is bursting with happiness and acting silly and then they make love. The way they look at each other after love making is beyond description. You see it in their eyes that they are lost in each other. They can't stop caressing as if they needed to make sure that moment is real and that other person really exists and is there in front of them. I only felt like this with one person in my life. And that scene is so real. It could have been me and my partner there in bed.
I am so looking forward to Freier Fall 2.
That was my favourite scene too!! I like it because to me that was the moment it clicked just how deeply Marc felt for Kay too. The actors were utterly brilliant and fearless throughout and at times I felt like I was spying on a RL couple.
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Couldn't agree with you more!
shareDefinitely my favourite scene. Also the one when they're in the hospital and Kay is about to leave and Marc grabs his hand and pulls him back and they kiss. It's almost like Marc is about to accept who he is at that moment.
shareMost scenes between Marc and Kay at the academy were favorites because it was exciting to watch Marc's growing attraction to Kay. I imagined that Marc's heart beat a little faster every time Kay flirted with him. I imagined Marc being disappointed when Kay wasn't there at roll call and being extremely relieved when Kay returned.
For sheer drama, the shower scene with Marc and Bettina was poignant and memorable. I could feel Bettina's torment. She said she could not be properly jealous and seemed unable to comprehend the idea of sex between two males. She was not homophobic, just extremely confused. At that time she must have lost all confidence that she could ever satisfy Marc in the bedroom again. It was a tragic scene but helped make the film even more realistic.
The lead-up scenes were great - the progression of Marc and Kay's attraction to one another. It's also just plain fun to watch Kay flirt with Marc, him trying to see how far he could take it. Particularly Kay's smugness when it was clear he knew Marc had asked about him when he was late to training.
The scene in the shower between Bettina and Marc was emotionally painful. Although I'm not sure her comment about not being able to be properly jealous had anything to do with not comprehending sexual possibilities between two men. Just from how she approached Marc at the start of the scene made it very clear she knew full well.
I think not getting to be properly jealous had more to do with that Bettina had worked herself up over the fact that Marc was seeing another woman. But then to find out it was Kay he was seeing, how could she compete with that? Another woman she could compete with, but not another man. Not to say that's necessarily true but that's how she viewed it. Just like you said though, she seemed to question whether she could satisfy him ever, in addition to still questioning Marc's sexuality.
Definitely the scene in the hospital where Kay gives a Marc a little kiss, but Marc pulls him back to kiss him more. It's just such a sweet part where you can really since the attraction and love that they have for each other
shareThat scene did it for me too!
I also liked the scene where they're jogging in the forest and Marc is like a lil puppy jumping for joy, teasing Kay, playfully smacking him upside his head, kicking him in the butt and calling Kay a pu$$y; you could just sense how free he felt now that he was able to be himself.
And I can't forget the scene at around the 1hr mark where they're in bed, just totally lost in each other's being and it appears they can't get enough of each other; the caresses, the stares and the lingering kisses was just too much for me.
Like Kay, I was totally heartbroken when Marc returned Kay's keys to his apartment.

I don't love you enough to hate you!
Gotta put in a word for the entire jiu jitsu sequence, which I think was outstanding. I love how it showed Marc buckling under the strain of Kay's unexpected presence, with both of them reverting to their behavior in the "crowd control" training scene (with Marc getting way too aggressive, and Kay making it clear he wasn't going to be anybody's punching bag). But Kay is perceptive enough to see he's created a difficult situation for Marc, which leads to the moment that turns their relationship, and the movie, around: He acknowledges his transfer was a $hitty idea, but they can salvage a bad situation by going for a run sometime.
Kay's mea culpa here is so genuine that it's not surprising Marc agrees to his suggestion - and as anyone who's seen the film already knows, that's when things really start to heat up.
Looks like almost everyone has a different favourite scene.
Can't wait to see the sequel.
I have two :
A. The scene where Kay admits his love for Marc to Marc's parents - awesome;
B. The hospital corridor scene. (Having said that, has anyone ever seen a hospital corridor so empty, unless in the middle of the night?)
Hard to chose, Marc and Kay first kiss with Kay masturbating him, it was very well acted and it was the scene we could really see what Marc was needing, his relationship with Bettina wasn't satisfying him, Marc needed love and Bettina was mostly distant, Kay was ready to give all love Marc wanted.
