Who is hotter?

Blondie kay or brownie marc?

reply

How subjective.
Imo, Kay probably, (although 95% of the time I like dark-haired guys).

Subject to what? Personal choice? Can it be ever objective? If yes, which "object" then? ;)

reply

Yes. ;D

reply

yes to what object? ;

The characters are both equally hot for very different reasons. Rather unlike the reasons for the actors playing them too. I think it's an important distinction to make. To separate the characters from the actors.

I'm a lot more like Marc in real life myself. So, naturally I gravitate more toward Kay. Despite that Kay is not my usual physical type. In Freier Fall specifically, I find Riemelt exceedingly pretty compared to in his other work. Like, insanely and unusually pretty.

Additionally, I'm attracted to Kay's personality because he possesses a lot of traits I admire. Qualities that I wish for in myself but would also want in other people. Strong, masculine, brave, loyal, comfortable in his own skin. I wouldn't mind having a man like Kay.

Most importantly, though, Kay is a normal person. Not a gay stereotype like the majority of queer characters are. His sexuality is a very minor aspect. A small part of the whole of his personality and life in general.

Koffler is also seriously hot. I much prefer his natural hair color but I understand why they went dark with it - they wanted the contrast. If only they didn't put him in so many heavy, baggy, shapeless sweatpants in Freier Fall. Then Marc would get to look so much hotter. Maybe in Freier Fall 2. :)

Like you scifi, Max R. is not my usual physical type but the personality of Kay assuredly is.
I also liked the fact that both leads were not stereotyped. There should be more of this in film. Sadly, it is the non-stereotypical gays who most threaten the less socially aware, shall I say, of heterosexual men.
All in all, this film was indeed a fine effort all round.
For me, the second best film ever, yes ever, to come out of Germany. (First just has to be "Downfall" - wonderful in all aspects and although we all know the story and the fate of the characters, I was riveted for the duration of the movie. Tremendous, and Oscar material for sure. The best WWII film ever made).

No shizzzz and Koffler is the one with the chiseled features and strong jawline. Reimalt has soft facial features, especially in comparison.

reply

So the hair colour wins it all?

reply

Kay...too bad the movie wasn't more about him.

Master of death ist the title of the film. sorry it is only in german, partly spanish. it is about koffler / marc who plays a guilt/conscience stricken weapon technical expert, working for a german firm that deals with mexican government / companies. inspired by a true story. unfortunately viewable only till 30th september 2015.
