Just saw '71, and liked it, even though it's dark and very brutal/violent at times (I like tough, hard films like that,though--to an extent.) It was also cool to see one of my fave Brit character actors, Sean Harris, playing yet another semi-evil antagonist with questionable motives. If you want to see O'Connell in an even grittier role (and film) check him out in the harsh British prison drama STARRED UP---he's even grimier (and bald again, plus his character is flat-out scary in it) in that one, and it's disturbing but good. And British films usually tend to be a bit grittier than Hollywood films anyway---depending on the subject.
