What UK Army unit...
...was the main characters? The unit's beret was dark blue but I'm not sure of the crest.
Thanks,
Dave

Probably a fictional one.
I didn't recognise their badge and don't recall mention of any regiment either.
Some have suggested the Derbyshire Regiment, but that finished in the 1800s, IIRC.
Ta, by the way who does wear a dark blue beret in the UK Army?
Dave
RN & Royal Marines.
Household Cavalry wear light blue.
My late father served with our RA, and from memory many English or Welsh Regiments can wear a dark blue beret but unsure which ones. No Scottish Regiments do, that much I know.
The Royal Marines only wear dark blue if they haven't completed the Commando course.
Here's a list:

The Household Cavalry form part of the Queen's Household Division, and so wear Khaki berets, with blue/red/blue badge backing, the same colours as their stable belts, and their regimental badge on top
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe...
