One flaw - more PC
The documentary captivated me. Informative and emotional, it hits you with the stories of these brave young soldiers and Marines and how they go about their business.
One flaw - it seems Mike Boettcher couldn't help himself. There's a certain political correctness that permeates our society and that is, in order to lift women up as being the equals to men in almost any capacity, we have to denigrate men.
Did Mike really mean to imply incompetence of those Medevac crews that are primarily populated with men by telling us all that the mostly female crew of the Medevac crew he interviewed "put the male crews to shame". "To shame"? Seriously? All the Medevac crews that save lives, put themselves in harm's way to do as much, those who have actually been killed in the line of duty, are no better than "shameful" at their jobs compared to these women? Insulting.
We are at a curious period in our society where the only way to build women up is at the expense of men. And, whether intentional or not, that's what Mike does.
C'mon. Can't you give these women their due without denigrating the male-dominated Medevac crews?
